Spring activities for Early Years

It’s time to get into Spring! The weather is officially looking up, the blossoms are coming out, rabbits are hopping in the fields and shops the world over are filling up with Easter eggs! What’s more, it’s a great time of year to engage kids, take on new aspects of learning and be inspired. As educators, there is nothing better than teaching something that you are genuinely interested in and excited to be covering, and we’ve included some spring ideas that are perfect for EYFS.

Explore our EYFS spring morning starter pack, full of ideas to get children learning when they arrive at school in the morning.

Maths spring activities

Try this great maths activity that’s perfect for tuff trays and provision areas. This Sunflower Size Ordering Activity is great to help children compare different sizes. Follow up by growing your own sunflowers in your garden or just in a pot.

Spring lifecycle resources

If your pupils like learning about nature, our Caterpillar Life Cycle Activity is just perfect! All you need are pipe cleaners, crepe paper, a paper plate and you’re pretty much there! You can also explore our butterfly lifecycle activity – great for tuff trays.

Spring colouring pages

Explore our range of spring colouring pages, including these minibeast colouring pages and our spring dot to dot pages. These can also be used for colouring as well as pencil control and fine motor skills practice. Don’t forget to check out our spring colouring pages as well.

Minibeast Mindfulness Colouring Pages

And my personal favourite – lots of people love our Spring Hunt Checklist – it’s a great excuse for getting outdoors and seeing what you can find in your surroundings.
