Week 8 of Year 3 Autumn Block 2 brings together pupils’ learning in addition and subtraction within 1,000, with a focus on problem solving, checking methods and choosing efficient strategies, following the White Rose Maths small steps progression.
This week includes the lesson plan, PowerPoint slides, differentiated worksheets, hands-on activities, and supporting assessments and revision mats where included.
Across the week, pupils find complements to 100, estimate answers to addition and subtraction calculations, and use the inverse operation to check their work. They also practise selecting appropriate methods when solving problems, helping them explain their reasoning and apply skills with confidence.
