Year 4 | Length and Perimeter Assessment – Spring Block 2
This Year 4 length and perimeter assessment checks pupils’ understanding of key measurement and perimeter skills taught across Spring Block 2. It is designed to be used at the end of the unit to assess fluency, reasoning and application in a range of contexts.
The assessment covers converting between kilometres and metres, finding equivalent lengths, and calculating perimeter on grids, rectangles and polygons. Pupils also apply their understanding to problem-solving questions involving missing lengths and real-life measurement scenarios.
What’s included in this assessment?
- Questions on equivalent lengths in metres and kilometres
- Calculating perimeter on a grid
- Finding the perimeter of rectangles
- Comparing the perimeter of regular polygons
- Calculating the perimeter of irregular polygons
- Problems involving missing lengths and real-life contexts
- Answer sheet for quick and accurate marking
This assessment supports teachers in identifying secure understanding and next steps before moving on to the next block, while remaining fully aligned with the Maths Masters teaching sequence.
