Year 1 baseline assessments
Use this Year 1 | Maths Baseline Assessment to help assess children’s maths knowledge and skills, based on the Early Learning Goals for Number and Number Patterns, also includes a question on shape. It would probably be best to carry this out as a small group or whole class, adult-led activity. It might also help if children have access to concrete materials to demonstrate their level of their understanding.
Included is a grid for you to collate children’s responses, in order to identify knowledge gaps.
