Year 6 Ellipsis SPaG Lesson Pack

This Year 6 SPaG lesson pack focuses on using ellipsis to build cohesion in narrative and dialogue. Pupils learn how to use ellipsis to omit words or indicate trailing off in speech, helping them vary their sentence structure and improve flow. Designed for UKS2 pupils working towards greater depth writing outcomes.

What’s included:

  • Year 6 ellipsis PowerPoint – clear modelling of how and when to use ellipsis for effect
  • Year 6 ellipsis worksheet – spot and insert ellipsis in written passages
  • Year 6 ellipsis activity sheet – rewrite sentences using ellipsis to improve cohesion

None of the resources display the year group label, so they’re suitable for mixed-age use.
