Year 4 Maths Summer Block 1 develops pupils’ understanding of decimals, building on earlier work with tenths and hundredths. Aligned with the Year 4 National Curriculum and White Rose Maths progression, pupils partition, compare and order decimals before exploring rounding and decimal equivalents of common fractions.
Across the block, pupils make wholes using tenths and hundredths, partition decimals in different ways and compare and order decimal numbers. They also round numbers with one decimal place to the nearest whole number and find decimal equivalents of halves and quarters.
