Year 3 Summer Block 3

Year 3 Maths – Summer Block 3: Time

This block develops pupils’ understanding of time, focusing on reading clocks, using units of time and solving problems involving duration. Pupils work with both analogue and digital clocks in a range of practical contexts.

Pupils begin by reading time using Roman numerals and telling the time to the nearest minute. They then move on to reading digital clocks, using am and pm, and understanding how time is structured across days, weeks, months and years.

Later in the block, pupils calculate durations using start and end times and apply their knowledge to solve a range of time-based problems.
