Develop confidence with Year 3 money through this practical block aligned with the White Rose small steps and mapped to the Year 3 National Curriculum. This unit helps pupils recognise, compare, convert and calculate with money using pounds and pence in a range of everyday contexts.

Pupils begin by counting money in pence, pounds and combinations of pounds and pence before learning to convert money, add and subtract amounts, and calculate change. Throughout the block, pupils apply their understanding of money to practical problems while developing fluency with coins, notes and monetary values.

Developing money skills in Year 3
