Year 4 morning starter presentation: Autumn set 5

Start the school day with five ready-to-use Year 4 morning starter activities for the Autumn Term. Each day combines short maths, spelling, grammar and writing tasks with a daily question, giving pupils varied Year 4 early morning work to begin independently as they arrive.

Across Autumn set 4, pupils practise key Year 4 number and place value skills, including estimating numbers on number lines, comparing 4-digit numbers and identifying the greatest number that can be made from a set of digits. English activities revisit pronouns, prepositions and adverbials, alongside sentence-completion and descriptive writing tasks. Spelling work includes the prefixes il- and ir-, singular forms of nouns and Year 3 and 4 spelling words including promise, increase, imagine, interest and experiment.

Launch the presentation directly in your browser and display it on your interactive whiteboard. Pupils can complete the activities in their morning books, on individual whiteboards or verbally where appropriate. If you want to work through responses together, you can also use your usual interactive whiteboard or screen annotation tools to mark, circle or discuss answers on screen.
