Year 2 Fractions Assessment
Assess pupils’ understanding of fractions using this Year 2 fractions assessment. This end-of-unit assessment checks key skills from the fractions unit, including making equal parts, recognising and finding unit fractions, identifying non-unit fractions, and solving fraction problems using visual models.
Pupils complete a range of questions such as splitting shapes into 2 equal parts, shading 1/2 of a grid, matching images to 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4, and finding fractions of amounts including 1/3 of 12 and 3/4 of 8. The assessment also includes an equivalence question to show that 1/2 and 2/4 are the same, a counting in fractions number line question, and a word problem involving fractions of a length. Answers are included, along with a clear marking breakdown linked to the small steps and National Curriculum objectives.
