Year 2 Morning Starter PowerPoints Autumn Term Set 3 provides five daily slides for early morning work, giving pupils a calm and purposeful start to the day. Each PowerPoint auto-generates the date and is fully aligned with the National Curriculum, making it easy to revisit prior learning while building fluency in maths, phonics and writing.
Activities in Set 3 include:
- Maths challenges – completing part–whole models, adding tens, finishing number patterns, counting in tens, identifying mistakes in number lines and representing numbers in different ways
- Phonics and spelling – practising high-frequency words, sorting real vs nonsense words and adding “-er” to verbs
- Writing tasks – punctuation practice with . and ?, correcting capital letters, joining sentences with and/but/or, and sequencing stories
- Wellbeing questions – prompts such as “What 3 things make you sad?” and “What do you want to learn today?”
