Help children read, write and spell tricky words with this Year 1 Common Exception Words Rainbows Activity – ideal for boosting spelling skills!

*How to use*

– Pick a common exception word card and then write that word across the corresponding colour of the rainbow in the same coloured pencil. E.g. focusing on the word ‘door’, write it in red as many times as you can along the red section of the rainbow.

– Colour in each coin in the relevant colour as you complete a rainbow line. (You could also place a treat or house point on the pot of gold as additional motivation!)
