EYFS Morning Starter Jobs Autumn 2 Week 3 – Nursery Rhyme Week
Week 3 of our EYFS Morning Starter Jobs Autumn 2 series is all about Nursery Rhyme Week. These Reception morning activities use the rhyme I’m a Little Teapot to spark engagement while pupils practise phonics, maths, fine motor and mark making skills. They are quick to prepare and ideal for giving children a calm, purposeful start to the day.
Children are split into 5 groups and rotate daily so that by Friday, everyone has completed all of the jobs. This week’s nursery rhyme themed challenges include:
- Fine motor: threading loom bands around numbered lolly sticks.
- Maths: identifying how many in simple sets.
- Mark making: I’m a Little Teapot pencil control tracing.
- Phonics: CVC word writing mats with words such as tag, pot, top and cat.
- Scissors: I’m a Little Teapot cutting activities for accuracy and control.
These Reception morning starter activities celebrate Nursery Rhyme Week, making learning meaningful and enjoyable while reinforcing early skills. Explore more packs in our EYFS Morning Starter Activities category or start a free trial today.
