Teach children about repeating pattens as part of continuous provision with this Caterpillar Repeating Patterns Activity.
How to use this resource
Use cubes, counters, bottle tops, coloured pasta, whatever you have to hand, to help children create repeating patterns. Start with ABAB patterns and when confident, encourage children to try ABCABC patterns or similar. Can children continue a pattern set for them? Can they set a pattern for a friend? What would come next in the given pattern?
