What is the Multiplication Tables Check?
The MTC is a statutory online test taken by Year 4 pupils in England to assess recall of multiplication facts. It’s a timed test with 25 questions and a 6-second limit for each one.
When is the Multiplication Tables Check in 2025?
In 2025, the MTC window is expected to be in June, following the usual annual schedule. Schools must administer the test within the specified 3-week window announced by the DfE.
What do pupils need to know?
By the end of Year 4, pupils should know all multiplication tables up to 12×12. These resources give them the chance to practise recalling facts quickly and accurately in a low-stress, familiar way.
