Lunar New Year topic pack for EYFS
Lunar New Year topic pack for EYFS with play-based activity ideas and ready-to-use printables for a Chinese New Year theme. It is designed to support People, Culture and Communities and helps pupils explore traditions, symbols and celebrations through hands-on learning.
The pack includes activity cards and enhancements across early maths, fine motor and literacy. Set up counting in correspondence with Chinese number cards 1-10, try a chopsticks challenge with lucky envelopes and coins, collage a lantern, and create a playdough dragon. For early literacy, pupils can write their name using the included Chinese character alphabet sheet, practise CVC word writing, and explore the zodiac animals with initial-sound activities.
