Develop multiplication and division understanding with this Year 2 multiplication and division block, aligned with the White Rose small steps and mapped to the Year 2 National Curriculum. This unit helps pupils build secure understanding of equal groups, arrays and multiplication facts before applying this knowledge to division.

Pupils learn to recognise and create equal groups, represent multiplication using the multiplication symbol and arrays, and recall facts from the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. They then apply their understanding to division through grouping and sharing, while exploring odd and even numbers and developing fluency with number patterns.
