Year 4 SPaG Scheme – Grammar, Punctuation and Writing Accuracy

Support grammar, punctuation and spelling teaching with our structured Year 4 SPaG scheme of work. Lessons are designed to help pupils improve writing accuracy, sentence organisation and grammatical control as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.

This Year 4 SPaG scheme includes differentiated SPaG worksheets, punctuation activities, interactive teaching slides, spelling resources and clear lesson planning linked to National Curriculum English Appendix 2 objectives.

Pupils develop confidence with fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases, apostrophes, determiners, pronouns and standard English through carefully sequenced lessons that support discussion, editing and written application.

Lessons are designed to fit flexibly into busy timetables and can be taught in short 15-30 minute sessions across the week. Read more about suggested SPaG timetabling and structure here.
