Year 1 SPaG Scheme – Grammar, Punctuation and Worksheets

Support grammar, punctuation and spelling teaching with our structured Year 1 SPaG scheme of work. Each unit is carefully sequenced to build key skills step-by-step, helping pupils develop confidence in sentence writing, punctuation and early grammar concepts.

This Year 1 SPaG scheme includes differentiated SPaG worksheets, grammar worksheets, interactive teaching slides, practical activities, spelling resources and clear lesson planning linked to the National Curriculum English Appendix 2 objectives.

From capital letters and full stops to simple conjunctions, question marks and sentence structure, the scheme provides full coverage of Year 1 grammar, punctuation and spelling objectives across the school year.

Year 1 SPaG planning, worksheets and lesson resources

Our Year 1 SPaG scheme of work provides a complete set of grammar, punctuation and spelling planning, differentiated worksheets, teaching slides and practical activities for the full academic year. The scheme is aligned with the National Curriculum English Appendix 2 objectives and supports pupils as they begin applying SPaG skills independently in their writing.

Pupils develop confidence with key Year 1 SPaG objectives including capital letters, full stops, question marks, exclamation marks, sentence structure and simple conjunctions.
