The summer term focuses on geometry, shape and position and direction. Pupils develop confidence when measuring and calculating angles, investigating shape properties, working with polygons and circles, constructing shapes accurately and using coordinates to solve problems involving translation and reflection.
Pupils classify, measure and calculate angles, solve problems involving triangles, quadrilaterals and polygons, investigate circles and 3D shapes, plot coordinates in four quadrants and apply translations and reflections on coordinate grids. These topics strengthen geometric reasoning and provide important preparation for secondary mathematics.
