Recognised and trusted – our primary resources have received national recognition and are used widely across the UK.
“When we first started home educating, I felt unsure about whether I was covering enough. Having resources that follow a clear progression has made a huge difference. I can see how skills build over time, but we still work at our own pace.”
“The maths in particular has been a relief. Everything is laid out clearly, and I don’t feel like I’m guessing what to cover next.”
– Laura Bennett, Home Educating Mum
“My son needs things explained carefully and sometimes revisited. I like that we’re not tied to a year group. We can choose what suits him and repeat or extend as needed without it feeling forced.”
“It’s reassuring to use resources that feel properly planned rather than random worksheets pulled together from different places.”
– Daniel Hughes, Parent of a KS2 child
If your child finds certain aspects of learning challenging, you may find these practical resources helpful. They focus on structure, regulation, confidence and building key skills in manageable steps.
Progression-based maths resources covering Early Years through to Year 6, organised into clear small steps so children build secure understanding before moving on. Lessons follow a logical sequence across number, calculation, geometry and problem solving, allowing you to move at a pace that suits your child.
A clear progression in spelling, punctuation and grammar, helping you cover the key knowledge step by step. Follow the sequence or adapt it to suit your child’s pace.
Phonics resources organised by phase, allowing you to follow a clear progression or revisit earlier steps when needed. Activities support listening skills, sounding out words and building confidence in reading through phonics games and activities.
Science resources organised into clear units, supporting children to observe, question and build understanding over time. Follow the progression in order or explore topics that match your child’s interests.
Geography resources organised into clear units, helping children build knowledge of places, people and the world over time. Use the units in order or choose topics that suit your child’s interests and pace.
Do I have to follow the National Curriculum?
No. When home educating in the UK, you are not required to follow the National Curriculum. Some families use it as a guide, while others take a more flexible approach.
Where should I start?
A simple starting point is the first week of the first term in a scheme. Work through it and see how your child responds. If it feels too easy, move forward. If it feels too challenging, step back. The progression makes it straightforward to find the right level.
Can I pick and choose resources?
Yes. You can follow a full progression or dip into individual lessons, units or topic packs depending on what suits your routine. Many families also use Morning Starters to ease into the day in a quick, engaging way.
Are Mrs Mactivity resources suitable for children with SEND?
Yes. The resources are clearly structured and easy to revisit. You can select starting points that match your child’s confidence and adapt activities to suit their needs.
What other resources are available?
In addition to maths, phonics, spelling, punctuation and grammar, science and geography, you’ll find a wide range of supporting resources, including:
Can these resources be used alongside school?
Yes. Many families use the materials to reinforce learning, provide extra support or extend understanding at home.
