Year 6 after SATs maths investigations for reasoning and problem solving

This Year 6 After SATs Maths Investigations: Problem Solving Pack 1 gives pupils a purposeful way to revisit key KS2 maths skills after SATs through rich reasoning, logic and problem-solving activities. Designed for the final half term of Year 6, the pack supports mathematical discussion, collaboration and independent thinking without feeling like more test practice.

Across the pack, pupils explore pentominoes, staircase number patterns, logic problems, arithmagons and Braille combinations. These investigations help pupils apply their understanding of shape, number, factors, multiples, algebra, inverse operations and systematic working in a range of engaging contexts.

The activities are ideal for whole-class maths lessons, paired problem-solving tasks and maths enrichment after SATs. Use this pack as part of our Year 6 After SATs Maths Investigations collection to support pupils as they consolidate KS2 maths skills before secondary school.
