Year 4 Position and Direction Assessment Pack
This Year 4 position and direction assessment pack helps you check pupils’ understanding of coordinates and translation at the end of the unit. It covers key skills including reading and plotting coordinates in the first quadrant, using coordinates to describe position, translating points and shapes on a grid, and describing translations accurately.
The assessment includes a range of questions such as plotting and labelling points from given coordinates, writing the coordinates of points on a grid, translating a point in steps, describing the translation of one shape to another, and drawing a 2-D shape by plotting given vertices and joining sides. An answers sheet is included to support quick marking and identifies the relevant small steps and National Curriculum links.
