Year 4 Geometry: Position and Direction Revision Mats

These Year 4 position and direction revision mats help pupils practise and consolidate key geometry skills from Summer Block 6. The activities focus on reading, writing and plotting coordinates, as well as translating points and shapes on a grid.

Pupils complete a range of short, focused tasks including identifying what is plotted at given coordinates, plotting points accurately, writing the coordinates of shapes, and completing shapes by plotting vertices. Translation activities support pupils in moving points and shapes horizontally and vertically and describing translations using the correct units and direction.

The revision mats are ideal for revisiting prior learning, end-of-block practice, or targeted consolidation for pupils who need extra support with coordinates and translations.
