Geography Scheme | Year 3/4 | Cycle B | Block 2: On Top of the World | Lesson 1: Where are the Mountains?
Year 3/4 mixed-age scheme, rivers and mountains resources, Year 3/4 Geography scheme of work
Glorious Geography is a well-structured and engaging Geography scheme of work from Reception to Year 6, designed to build secure knowledge and strong geographical skills. This Year 3/4 mixed-age Geography lesson on mountains focuses on helping pupils locate mountains around the world using maps and atlases. The children explore what makes a mountain, how it differs from a hill and identify key mountain ranges across the UK, Europe and beyond. Full national curriculum coverage.
How to use our mixed-age Geography scheme of work:
For schools with mixed age classes, we have adapted the scheme so that the Year 3 and Year 4 blocks can be used on a two-year cycle.
In the first year of the cycle, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 will follow the Cycle A blocks of lessons.
In the second year, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 will follow the Cycle B blocks of lessons.
This ensures that the children do not repeat any of the blocks during KS2.
Each lesson pack includes clear lesson plans, key vocabulary, misconceptions, assessment opportunities, editable teaching slides and differentiated worksheets to support all pupils.
