Year 2 | Summer Block 2 Position and Direction Assessment
Year 2 Position and Direction Assessment
Assess pupils’ understanding of geometry using this Year 2 position and direction assessment. This ready-to-use end-of-unit test checks key skills including positional language, movement on grids, describing turns and recognising clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation.
Pupils answer questions such as describing the position of objects using language like in between, next to and to the right of, completing movement sentences using left, right, up and down, and identifying how a shape has turned (including a quarter turn clockwise or anti-clockwise). They also complete a turning pattern, draw objects in the correct positions on a grid, and finish a route and write directions using forwards movement and quarter turns. Answers are included, along with a clear marking breakdown linked to the small steps and National Curriculum objectives.
