Topic: Statistics

This lesson practises making a tally chart. It is a longer presentation and can be split across two sessions. The first focussing on practising making tally marks to record numbers of objects and an introduction to tally charts; the second focuses on using, finding the totals of tally charts and common errors.

Small Steps: Make tally charts.

NC Links: Interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and simple tables. *Ask and answer simple questions by counting the number of objects in each category and sorting the categories by quantity. *Ask and answer questions about totalling and comparing categorical data.
