Year 2 Animals Including Humans – Basic Needs assessment

This Year 2 Animals Including Humans – Basic Needs assessment checks pupils’ understanding of the key knowledge from the unit, including the basic needs of animals, including humans for survival (water, food and air). It is ideal as a Year 2 science end of unit assessment or quick check of understanding after teaching the block.

Questions assess knowledge and application across the topic, including matching animals to foods they might eat to survive, explaining how a rabbit’s senses help it survive, and answering an oxygen and breathing question about a fish. Pupils also choose an appropriate enquiry question to begin a simple test and select a suitable method for investigating animal food preferences.

This assessment is part of our Animals Including Humans – Basic Needs unit.
