Year 1 Parts and Whole Revision Mats
Support early addition understanding with this Year 1 parts and whole revision mat. These quick, child-friendly maths worksheets are ideal for retrieval practice, early finishers or end-of-unit revision. Pupils practise identifying parts and wholes, using the part-whole model, and writing simple addition sentences to show how a whole is made from parts.
Across the mats, pupils add missing labels to show which picture represents the whole and which shows a part. They then split a group of counters into two parts in different ways and record their thinking on a part-whole model. Pupils also work out the whole number when two parts are shown, and finish by writing the matching addition sentence using numbers and the + and = symbols.
