Year 1 Quarters Worksheets – Shapes and Quantities

Children begin by exploring quarters through real-life sharing, such as dividing a pizza into four equal parts. They learn that a shape can only be split into quarters when the four parts are equal, and they practise making quarters by folding, halving and halving again, and drawing lines to divide shapes accurately. Pupils then move on to finding a quarter of a quantity by sharing objects into four equal groups and checking that each group is the same size.
