Aligned with the maths mastery approach, this Year 1 | Counting in 5s Lesson Presentation is fully editable, and is designed for the Year 1 maths curriculum covering the following maths objectives for the autumn term:
Topic: Place Value to 50
This lesson practises counting in twos within 50. This is a longer presentation and suggest that it is split into two days: one on counting in twos using number tracks, number lines and grids, and another on counting objects in twos.
Small Step: Count in 5s.

Ready-to-progress criteria: 1NF2 Count forwards and backwards in multiples of 2,5 and 10, up to 10 multiples, and count forwards and backwards through the odd numbers.
Future applications – Identify multiples of 2, 5, and 10.
