Year 2 recycling lesson: Make recycled paper
This Year 2 recycling lesson helps pupils understand how materials can be recycled into new products. Pupils observe and take part in making recycled paper, then learn about other recycling processes such as sorting, crushing, melting and reshaping materials. This lesson is part of our Year 2 Everyday Materials unit and links directly to the KS1 science curriculum.
Pupils explore which items can and cannot be recycled and begin to explain why. They also match recycled materials to products made from them, helping them see the purpose of recycling in real life.
