Science Scheme | Year 1 | Block 2: Everyday Materials | Lesson 3: Exploring and Describing Materials helps pupils build confidence using vocabulary to describe what materials are like. Through direct discussion, hands-on sorting and written recording, children learn how to describe materials using words like shiny, bendy and soft, laying the foundations for their future investigations. Vocabulary scaffolds and A3 worksheets support all learners, with extension ideas for greater depth.
