Year 1 Everyday Materials Lesson 4: Materials From the Local Environment

Year 1 Everyday Materials Lesson 4 helps pupils identify and describe materials in their local environment. This lesson supports first-hand observation and comparison of real-world objects made from everyday materials. Pupils go on a guided walk to spot and record examples of wood, metal, brick, plastic and more, linking classroom learning to the world around them.

The pack includes a full lesson plan, interactive slides with teacher notes, object cards, differentiated worksheets, and a spotter sheet. Designed to build scientific enquiry skills as part of our Primary Science scheme of work.
