Reception Science Lesson – Science Helps Us Solve Problems
Introduce young learners to the idea that science helps us solve problems with this engaging Reception science lesson on inventions and machines. As part of our Mini Scientists unit for Reception, children explore how science supports our basic needs – including food, water, shelter and warmth.
Through observation, discussion and hands-on activities, pupils investigate everyday objects and learn how machines and inventions are used to help people. They begin to ask scientific questions and record simple findings using sentence stems, talk prompts and visual support.
