Reception Science Lesson – How Inventions Help Us
Introduce young learners to the idea that science helps solve everyday problems with this engaging Reception science lesson on inventions and machines. As part of our Mini Scientists unit for Reception, children explore how inventions and machines help us meet our basic needs, including food, water, air, shelter and warmth.
Through observation, discussion and practical investigation, pupils explore everyday inventions, consider how they help people and begin asking questions about how things work. Children record simple observations, discuss why inventions are useful and compare different types of shelter.
