Year 2 geography meteorologists lesson – What do meteorologists do?
In this Year 2 geography lesson, pupils discover the role of meteorologists and how they measure and record different types of weather. As part of our Seasonal and Daily Weather Patterns unit, children learn how weather data is collected and used to create forecasts. Through hands-on enquiry, pupils explore weather equipment such as thermometers, rain gauges, wind vanes and anemometers. They will construct a simple weather station, make observations outdoors, and record data on rainfall, wind direction and temperature.
