Year 1 Maths Curriculum Overview and Year Plan – Maths Masters
This Year 1 maths curriculum overview sets out the full year’s learning journey, showing how National Curriculum objectives are taught across Autumn, Spring and Summer. It is designed to give teachers and leaders a clear view of coverage, sequencing and progression within our Maths Masters scheme.
Across the year, pupils build secure number foundations through place value within 10, 20, 50 and 100, alongside early addition and subtraction, number bonds and simple problem solving. The plan also maps out key KS1 areas including shape, position and direction, measurement (length, height, weight, volume), as well as money and time.
Use this Year 1 maths year plan to:
- See a term-by-term overview of every Year 1 National Curriculum objective
- Check progression from early counting to place value within 100
- Track where number bonds and calculation skills are introduced and revisited
- View coverage of geometry and measurement across the year
- Support curriculum monitoring and whole-year planning
This overview forms part of our complete Maths Masters scheme of work, which includes full planning, differentiated worksheets, interactive slides and assessment materials for each unit.
