We love this Easter Number Bonds to 10 Activity as a really fun way of introducing making bonds to 10 with your children either at home or school. Print the eggs onto card, cut out then ask your children to use their fine motor skills to cut along the dotted lines to separate the egg and chick. When you’ve cut them all out, scatter on your surface and ask your children to put them back together again. For older or more able children, ask them to ignore the jig saw element and just use their maths skills to figure out which two numbers make 10. For younger or children who need a little more practice, ask them to treat the eggs and chicks like a jig saw, then go over each number bond together at the end. For greater consolidation, use counters or buttons on each half so that children have a visual representation as well of what makes 10. Fun!
