Chuaigh mé go dtí an Siopa agus Cheannaigh mé (Gaeilge Memory Game) | Rebecca The Irish Teacher Range

Explore our Chuaigh mé go dtí an Siopa agus Cheannaigh mé (Gaeilge Memory Game) from our Rebecca The Irish Teacher Range. A cut and paste game designed to get children TALKING and having fun in Gaeilge.

How to use

The children can decide what food items they’d like to buy in the shop and then cut and stick them into the spaces accordingly. From there they can take it in turns with their partners, asking and telling what they bought in the shop.

Partner A can say ‘chuaigh mé go dtí an siopa agus cheannaigh mé….’

Partner B must listen and repeat what they bought in the shop. ‘Chuaigh tú go dtí an siopa agus cheannaigh tú…’

There is a blank set of cards for children to draw their own food items, if not included in this pack. This will give them a chance to take ownership of their learning and look up new words in irish dictionaries to include in their game.

Children could alternatively draw them items in the spaces provided too and label them to add an extension for those who need it.

Endless opportunities to use Gaeilge in the classroom and move away from the workbook.

Included also in this pack are some display posters to be used when talking about food:

-’Is aoibheann liom’ (I love)

-’Is maith liom’ (I like)

-Ní maith liom (I don’t like).
