This Year 6 place value unit helps pupils develop a secure understanding of numbers up to 10,000,000. Aligned with White Rose Maths and the Year 6 National Curriculum, the block develops confidence with large numbers, powers of ten, rounding, number lines and negative numbers through carefully sequenced lessons.

Across the unit, pupils read, write, compare and order numbers to 10,000,000, explore place value relationships using powers of ten, position numbers accurately on number lines and round whole numbers to different levels of accuracy. The block also introduces negative numbers in context, helping pupils develop a deeper understanding of integers and number relationships.
