Year 3 Autumn Block 2 – Week 7

Week 7 of Year 3 Autumn Block 2 builds on column addition and subtraction by introducing calculations that require exchange, following the White Rose Maths small steps progression.

This week includes the lesson plan, PowerPoint slides, differentiated worksheets, hands-on activities, and supporting assessments and revision mats where included.

Across the week, pupils add and subtract two-digit and three-digit numbers where exchanging ones or tens is required. Teaching focuses on understanding why exchange is needed, using place value to support accurate calculations and reduce common misconceptions.
