Our Nursery maths scheme provides a clear, structured progression for early maths in Nursery, helping pupils aged 3 and 4 build strong foundations in number, counting, subitising, pattern, shape, space and measure. The scheme is aligned with the EYFS framework and follows the White Rose Maths progression.
Part of Maths Masters, the Nursery sequence combines short adult-led sessions with practical activities and opportunities to revisit mathematical ideas through continuous provision. Learning is carefully sequenced so that concepts are introduced, revisited and developed as pupils move towards Reception.
The scheme contains 24 blocks, with each block planned over approximately two weeks and around three lessons per week. The blocks are grouped into Autumn, Spring and Summer to make planning straightforward, but settings do not have to begin with Autumn Block 1.
If you are starting partway through the year, choose the block that best matches your pupils’ current mathematical understanding and then follow the sequence from that point. This gives Nursery teachers and practitioners flexibility while maintaining a clear progression through the scheme.
