Year 3/4 Cycle A Block 2

How to use our mixed-age Geography scheme of work.

For schools with mixed age classes, we have adapted the scheme so that the Year 3 and Year 4 blocks can be used on a two-year cycle. In the first year of the cycle, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 will follow the Cycle A blocks of lessons.

In the second year, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 will follow the Cycle B blocks of lessons. This ensures that children do not repeat any of the blocks during KS2.

Year 3/4 Mixed-age climate zone resources

In this mixed-age Year 3/4 geography unit, pupils embark on an exciting journey to explore the world’s climate zones. From the icy polar regions to the lush tropics, they will uncover how climate shapes the environment and influences life around the globe. Through engaging activities and vibrant resources, pupils will learn about key geographical concepts such as temperature, precipitation, and seasonal changes. This unit builds understanding of global patterns while encouraging pupils to make connections with their own environment. Fully aligned with the KS2 national curriculum, it’s an ideal way to inspire curiosity and deepen geographical knowledge.
