Science Scheme | Year 1 | Block 2: Everyday Materials | Knowledge Organiser
Year 1 everyday materials knowledge organiser
This Year 1 everyday materials knowledge organiser helps pupils remember the key knowledge and vocabulary from the Everyday Materials unit. It provides a clear overview of common materials, their properties and where materials come from, helping pupils build confidence when discussing and identifying materials in the world around them.
Pupils learn to recognise everyday materials such as wood, metal, plastic, glass, fabric and paper, while developing their understanding of material properties including hard, soft, rough, smooth, waterproof and absorbent. The knowledge organiser supports retrieval practice and helps pupils revisit important scientific vocabulary throughout the unit.
What’s included?
