My name is Heather, I’m the founder of Mrs Mactivity and a qualified primary school teacher, with time spent teaching across all age ranges – including a stint in Japan. I’m also an experienced educational publisher and have held senior roles at both Twinkl and Kapow Primary.
Outside of work I’m the proud owner of a handsome Labrador called Loki and mum of 3.
As a teacher and a parent, I know how precious your time is. I used to spend hours and hours searching for meaningful learning activities for both my class and own children at home, or spent hours making my own. Nothing I found online ever seemed to quite work, or I couldn’t afford the membership. Sometimes I struggled to come up with new ideas week after week, and I could feel the kids switching off. With that in mind, I decided to set up an Early Years and Primary learning resources site that was full of resources I’d be proud to use in my own classroom, with an easy to navigate website, and schemes and resources that stem from both tried and tested methods and inspiring new ideas. Our membership is also affordable for both individuals and schools and represents brilliant value for money.
6 years on, I’ve really proud to be able to offer teachers high quality, lovingly made schemes of work and resources to help make their lives easier and improve learning outcomes for pupils.
Since our inception, I’ve been joined by KS1/2 teacher Anne, EYFS teacher Louise, designers Tom and Kev, phonics specialist Katie and tech support Joe, all of whom are passionate about providing high quality resources to help save your weekends and evenings, after all, time is precious. We specialise in creating engaging and thoughtful schemes of work and resources that match national curriculum objectives and help children make progress, with new resources uploaded every week.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved – but we’re proudest of the fact that teachers *genuinely* love what we’ve built…
“I have been a member of Mrs Mactivity for a few years now. The resources are second to none and are also child orientated. Great varied resources, covering all year groups and topics and if you ever need anything, just send a request and they definitely get on and provide it. Always grateful. Thank you!”
Joan Dawson, Teacher
We have created thousands of resources including a maths scheme of work, topic resources, innovative display resources, continuous provision resources, phonics resources and worked to create collab ranges with our favourite Instagrammers. Teachers and children love the bright, colourful nature of our resources, and the fact we are “a bit different”.
